PURE: Japan Update
3/18/03
PURE: Japan's tour is in the works, with Director of Operations Mina de Margo working round the clock to make sure things are to perfection. The arena is booked, and tickets are already being sold for the show.

But no card has been released.

"I want the fans to be surprised at the matches we have planned for this tour." de Margo responded to questioning outside her hotel in Tokyo. "Nowadays the wrestling industry tells you what you're to see, but not us. We'll mention who will be there, but the actual competitions are kept secret. Tune in for the first show on GAORA TV 7pm on Thursday or Friday...I can't remember which one."

She giggled sheepishly before walking off.

Other news she discussed at that moment:

-Isao Asai is on the injured list from Final Destinies, pending a lower back sprain from landing on one of the explosions during his deathmatch with Radiant. He is recouperating now, and should be back soon.

-The Boogiepop Dynasty, PURE:Japan's up and coming Trinity Tag Team and musicians, was talking with Mina about putting on a small fan festival sometime in the following months. The festival would be interactions with the fans, along with one or two exhibition matches between the Boogiepop Dynasty and willing independent stars in Japan, ending with a performance by the Boogiepop Dynasty themselves and an autograph session. Fans are looking forward to the possibility of PURE:Japan spending time with the people that make them great.

-There's been a new signing for PURE: Japan. Mina de Margo has yet to say who this person is, but she guarantees that the wrestler will be an impact player.

Be sure to check out PURE:Japan; the Tamashii Tour on GAORA TV!

Suburban Ninja Clan Take On WO
3/17/03
The PURE Press Offices have received a press statement from the Trinity Tag Team Champions, the Suburban Ninja Clan. It reads as follows:

"I am the Sensei of the Suburban Ninja Clan, I speak for the Clan in this instance. After a communal meeting, the Clan has come to an agreement regarding its position in PURE. While it holds the Trinity Tag Team Titles, it is concerned with the state of the PURE Trinity Tag Team division as a whole. Simply put, the division is in shambles.

"There are effectively 5 Trinity Tag Teams, and the SNC has soundly defeated two of them, proving them to be on the whole ineffective, and not a threat to anyone. That leaves Raizo Tenzan's Saikyo System and Justice, Inc., but I have confidence in my ninja to defeat them. Raizo Tenzan is concerned with his deserved All-Asia title, Yuka Hamada has a crush on Hoshi Akagawa (or something), Itagaki Freeze dropped off of the map since performing rather unimpressively in such a wrestling backwater as America... simply put, the Saikyo System is a faction of independent wrestlers, not a team. As for Justice, Inc., we have tracked their former federation to be LOW. Fitting, such misfits as them were LOW on the wrestling ladder. They had to quit an American independent because it was too hard on them. And they are coming to PURE?

"This is a sad state for the PURE Trinity Tag Team division. The Clan will not stand by and allow their titles to be booked against the common vagabonds, superhero wannabes, American surfers, or a loosely-affiliated stable; the Clan will not allow the concept of Trinity Tag to fail, will not allow its titles to fall into obscurity.

"Taking matters into its own hands, the Clan offers an open challenge to the laughable WrestleOnline organization that PURE is unfortunate enough to be affiliated with. ANY 3-man team in PCW, OSW, or PWC; even RUSH when it reopens, are allowed and encouraged to declare themselves challengers to the PURE Trinity Tag championship. The Clan will send ninjas to its challengers' shows and defend its Trinity Tag Team belts there.

"This championship could be the best team title in PURE, and in the world. But it needs better opponents than Sushi Crew, Nu Era, and some carnival freaks pretending to be superheroes. However, should the Clan not receive any direct challengers... we may just start showing up in other federations. We wanted to stay in Japan, but they unleashed us upon the world. So be it...."

This would be the first WrestleOnline federation tour by a team of any kind. Will anyone take up the challenge, or will the Clan have to take victims for itself? What is the response by PURE management? Who am I and why and I asking pointless rhetorical questions? Watch PURE: World Tuesday night on UPN for more on this development.

Bad Company Deported
3/05/03
The PURE Front Office today recieved official notification of Bad Company's resignation from PURE.

The Trinity team have yet to put in an appearance on PURE television, due to them being held at Customs and Imigration at the Tokyo International Airport. A contact from the British Embassy released the following:

"James Maldini, Mike Bailey and Daniel Stein have been deported back to England to await processing. Mr Maldini, and Mr Bailey travelled to Japan on falsified documents, whereas Mr Stein's passport had expired. Mr Maldini and Mr Bailey will await trial, while Mr Stein is free to return to Japan once his passport is renewed. However, Mr Stein has stated that he does not wish to be contracted to PURE on his own, and is returning to England to pursue his career there.

It is with this news that we request the termination of all three contracts due to special circumstances."

As per the request, all three contracts have been terminated.

Radiant to Wrestle Unmasked
3/05/03
After being unmasked at the hands of his enemy Isao Asai at PURE’s first and only Pay Per View, Final Destinies, Radiant quietly said to his fiancé and manager, Minori Kumako, that he may have to be forced to wrestle simply as Akoshi Kunamara and not as Radiant.

Radiant was unavailable to comment to the Japanese press. However, Minori Kumako passed on a message saying:

“Akoshi doesn’t want to speak to you people. His mask was torn to shreds by that… that fool Asai! He has a right to not want to be in public, and don’t you people harass him about it!”

PURE officials, Mina de Margo, specifically will try and get to the bottom of this with the Junior Heavyweight Champion before the next Ikusa.

Final Destinies Card Released
2/25/03
On Tuesday, February 24th Jamar Wilson released the lineup for Final Destinies to the public. This being the first main stream PPV event that PURE has ever had in it's history. With an exclusive eight match show featuring bouts for the All Asia and Junior Heavyweight titles, including a small four man tournament for the Heavyweight title. This event will in fact crown the first PURE Heavyweight Champion as well. The public is excited and Jamar Wilson had this to say:

"Today is a great day for PURE and the puroresu industry. Come Sunday PURE will shock all in Japan and even some around the world."

So what is this big shock Owner Jamar Wilson is talking about? Rumors are flying and fans of all sorts are speculating, but the find out the truth you'll have to tune in on March 2nd for Final Destinies.

Update from Mina de Margo
2/18/03
Having bore witness to the incident involving the sudden formation of Raizo Tenzan, Steven Lee, and the Black Dragons from her office backstage, PURE vice president Mina de Margo was not pleased at what she saw at all. She held an surprise press conference in the parking lot after the show to make her view on the situation.

Mina: This is not going to bode well at all. This alliance of Tenzan’s will do nothing but bring confusion to the harmony that is PURE both as a sport and as a company. This is not a place where they can do as they please. They will respect my rule as an authority figure in PURE.

When asked about the condition of the Sushi Crew, Jesse Ramey, Eddie Mandrake, and Enmity, as well as head referee Taki Kuonji:

Mina: Taki was knocked out for a while, but he woke up with a headache and a bruise on his face. He’s a veteran in this business, both as an official and as a wrestler, so he can take his share of impacts. The wrestlers are fine as well, having suffered minor bruises and injuries. Ramey was out for nearly an hour pending being put through the announce table by SSL, and Enmity had a twinge in his back from the chair impacts from SSL and Raizo Tenzan.

The interview turned next to the upcoming pay per view, Final Destinies:

Mina: The card is booked, and will be announced on this coming Ikusa. As I mentioned before, I will also give more information about the first ever inductee into the PURE Hall of Legends, Inphino Blitz. Know that all the titles will be on this line, including the vacant PURE Heavyweight Championship.

Mina thanked the press and left the arena at that point.

Tenzan's Statement
2/18/03
All who tuned in for this past Ikusa bore witness to the horrendous event that took place during the 10 man tag team main event. Near the end of the match, the bout took a turn for the worse as gaijin star Sinister Steven Lee, the Black Dragons, and the Saikyo Senshi Raizo Tenzan turned on their respected partners in that match Eddie Mandrake, the Sushi Crew, Jesse Ramey, and Enmity. Leaving the ring area in decimation from the wrestlers, to the announce table, to even PURE head referee Taki Kuonji, this new alliance has struck a nerve in the puroresu world.

Right after that incident, the five rogues were flocked by reporters as they approached an awaiting limousine. Raizo Tenzan addressed the press as his four allies entered the vehicle.

Raizo: Everyone is asking the question “Why? What happened?”. Well answers will be revealed this coming Ikusa to the public, as well as a sneak preview of our future plans. All that you need to know this instant is that PURE has now become a war zone, and only the strongest soldiers will stand tall.

Raizo posed for a few photos before entering the limo and driving off.

PURE Personal Report
2/17/03
In the last two weeks PURE has undergone a number of contract changes. A few contracts have been released along with a good number of signings. After the Thursday strike in Tokyo, PURE management took a big step in pleasing their fans.

Leaving on personal issues was Erik Blake. This man looked to have promising futures and PURE will miss his presence. Fans however had something different to say on the matter.

“Finally, PURE should get the idea and dump a few more of these Developmental wrestlers. Blake? Who’s he?”

Speaking of “dumped” developmental wrestlers, Peter Perez’s contract has been terminated.

“PURE just doesn’t have room for lazy working Americans, bringing down there traditional history.” Said another angry PURE supporter.

As for the hiring, PURE has given contracts to Kugutsu, Toshiba Mitsubishi, and Taji Sakabashi to go along with the also newly signed Naoki, Furinto Age, and Suburban Ninja Clan.

“PURE will be drawing a lot more popularity from these recent moves, and it’s looking to gain a lot of steam as it approaches it’s first huge event.” Said Habashi Senkai from the Japanese Star.

PURE hopes all of its new prospects have bright futures.

Riot in Tokyo
2/17/03
On Thursday night in Tokyo riot police marched in after a group of Radical PURE fans started throwing rocks at the office of Jamar Wilson. Prior to the attack these Radicals were protesting the number of contracts given to Gaijin wrestlers in PURE. We had a word with a few of these supporters.

“PURE has taken all the Japanese tradition it had and just flushed it down the toilet. I, as a long time fan, can not sit around and see another American take jobs from hard working Japanese talent.”

Jamar Wilson is yet to speak thoroughly on this issue, but some of the Radicals were taken away in cuffs. Word is PURE is going to respond to this movement with a change within it’s hiring policy. Most of the men and women we spoke to in Tokyo were in fact pleased with the way PURE has been run thus far. All Jamar Wilson had to tell us was.

“We here at PURE will work hard to please everyone.”

A Silent Warrior
2/15/03
A Silent Warrior...

PURE has recently acquired many new talent to add to their growing roster over the past week and all look to be pretty impressive and brilliant additions. One of these men goes simply by the name of Naoki. Full name being Naoki Fujimoto of Mishima, Japan. He along with his manager and mouthpiece Nicolas Grimes have signed a contract with PURE after impressing PURE owner Jamar Wilson himself.

Naoki seems to have a great knowledge of the martial art of ninjitsu. Resources say he has trained with his grandfather, the late Takata Fujimoto, since he was able to walk. There is no doubt that he is talented thanks to some videos of his past stints as a pro fighter and wrestler in the independent league of the Mishima Wrestling Alliance. Reporters could not get word with Naoki as he remained silent and just stared a hole through each of them. However Naoki’s manager was more then eager to talk.

“Naoki is quite the impressive guy.” said Nicolas Grimes as he talked to one of our many reporters. “I was paired with him back in our MWA days to be his manager as the booker at that time thought we would work well together. Well he was absolutely right about that. Sure Naoki is pretty impressive but without me he would just simply be some boring guy in a mask and we just can’t let that happen. With my help Naoki will no doubt be the biggest thing in Japan since Godzilla!”

Nicolas Grimes would have said more but he was met with a very infuriated glare from Naoki who was in the room at the time and that pretty much ended the interview right there. Mr. Grimes told us however that we would learn more about this silent warrior soon and that we would no doubt see a star on the horizon. We will keep you updated as we get more information.

Kohana losing interest in Yulav?
2/07/03
After Ikusa III, it seemed as though Kohana had his sites set on Senji Yulav and his All Asia Title, based on his comments after Yulav's match, and during Kohana's Saturday "Just Pop" appearance.

However, it seems Kohana has taken a 180 degree turn. When he was informed about the Battle Royal on Ikusa IV, the winner getting a World Title Shot on the Ikusa after Final Destinies, Kohana had this to say.

"I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I see no reason why I can't win this match. I think my performances thus far have shown I'm quite capable of holding my own. Holding the tights doesn't get you anywhere in a Battle Royal."

When asked about Yulav, he had this to say.

"Yeah, it bugs me that he's got two pinfalls over me. The All Asia Title is great, but if any heavyweight comes into PURE telling you they're not interested in the World Title, they're lying. I plan on taking this match by storm, and then on the Ikusa after our Pay Per View, I'll make PURE's first World Title reign, its shortest. The way I see it, one on one, I can match up with anyone. Enmity, Ramey, Lee, Mandrake, who cares. So while I do have a bit of a grudge against Senji, if we meet again a few weeks from now, and he's holding his All Asia belt, and I'm holding a World Title Belt... well then we know who's the better man."

Senji Yulav, being a champion already, is not entered in the Battle Royal.

Lee's Loss Provokes Evil Inside
2/05/03
Blood, sweat, and respect were all seen a few nights ago in the Tokyo Street Fight that Steven Lee, and Jesse Ramey found themseles in. The tough loss that Lee took, however, wasn't a depressing moment for him. "All it's done is entisify my hate for the scum!" Lee stated towards Ramey.

Shorty after the match was finished, Lee was approached by many people backstage, trying to ask him questions. No comments where given, instead a few punches were thrown, as the provoked evil inside of Steven Lee started to show not long after the loss.

For the past few days, Lee has taken refuge in his Tokyo hotel room, and we have only gotten a few words with him about the situation. We do know that he has plans for getting his revenge before the PPV, according to Yoshikiro. What the revenge is, nobody will know.

"His happiness won't last for long, I'll make sure of it." Lee stated in response to an article read about the PURE superstar, and wrestling veteran Ramey. And if all goes according to Lee's plan, then we should see some fireworks on the 9th.
